Georgie Harris
FOOD LIFESTYLE MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS
Georgia Harris – aka This is Georgie – is the ultimate girl next door with a creative spark and a heart of gold.
Now happily settled in Christchurch after moving south from Auckland, Georgie is known for bringing warmth, honesty, and joy to her growing online community. A country kid at heart, she grew up on a rural property surrounded by animals, developing a love for classic Kiwi icons like Country Calendar, Super Rugby (she’s a BIG fan!), and the comforting sounds of Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, and Fleetwood Mac. Add in a healthy dose of Gilmore Girls and The OC nostalgia, and you’ve got Georgie’s vibe: grounded, fun, and full of heart.
A lifelong creative, Georgie’s passion for art, photography, and media led her to start sharing content online – but her path took on new meaning at 23, after losing her dad to suicide. Determined to turn grief into change, she co-founded Cool Change NZ with close friends Grace Curtis and Tori Wheelans. Their movement has helped thousands by sparking conversations around mental health, grief, and suicide prevention, including Georgie’s now-iconic mental health bumper stickers seen on cars across the country. She’s been a tireless advocate for better support in rural communities, openly sharing the realities of isolation and the barriers to accessing help.
Through it all, Georgie’s online presence has grown organically and authentically, resonating with an engaged community she deeply cherishes. She invites followers into her world of cozy home DIYs, creative baking adventures, and heartwarming everyday moments – all sprinkled with candid chats about life, grief, and finding joy again.
Career-driven and passionate, Georgie balances a demanding professional life outside social media with sharing glimpses of her travels, life at home, and collaborations with brands she genuinely loves. Her content is a reminder to celebrate life’s big and small moments, and to always keep the conversation going.
Whether she’s whipping up a cake, cheering on her favourite rugby team, or championing mental wellbeing, Georgie’s unique perspective and unwavering authenticity make her a standout voice in Aotearoa.
